Use These AI Prompts to Fix Your Design
Use These AI Prompts to Fix Your Design

At TatbiqIT, we're always seeking ways to improve our user experience and interface design, but traditional feedback methods can be time-consuming, expensive, and subjective. That's why we embarked on an innovative experiment: transforming artificial intelligence into a panel of expert design professors to critique our website.

Why We Asked AI to Evaluate Our Design

Using prompt engineering, we created AI personas for instant, diverse design feedback. This blog shares our method, prompts, and results.

How We Turned AI Into Design Professors

Using advanced prompt engineering, allows us to make the AI to think toward our goal with no distraction.

we created multiple AI personas with specialized evaluation criteria—from brutally honest assessments to cost-effective analyses and positive reinforcement reviews. This approach allowed us to gain comprehensive, immediate, and diverse perspectives on our design strengths and weaknesses without the traditional barriers of time zones, availability, or cost.

Prompt Engineering Strategy

Creating effective AI critics required careful prompt construction. We developed five distinct prompts, each designed to elicit a different type of evaluation:

  1. The Strict Professor Prompt: Designed to generate brutally honest, critical feedback
  2. The Cost-Effective Professor Prompt: Focused on practical, implementable improvements
  3. The Positive Professor Prompt: Aimed at identifying what's working well
  4. The Comprehensive Professor Prompt: Requesting a complete holistic assessment
  5. The Rating Professor Prompt: Structured quantitative evaluation

We used GPT-5 architecture with specialized training in UX/UI principles, ensuring our AI critics had sufficient knowledge of current design standards, accessibility guidelines, and best practices. Each prompt specifically instructed the AI to adopt the persona of an experienced design professor with particular expertise in web interface design.

How We Evaluate

The AI professors were asked to evaluate our website (https://tatbiqit.com/) based on established design principles:

Prompt 1: The Strict Professor Critique

*"Act as a brutally honest senior UX/UI professor with 25 years of experience evaluating enterprise websites. You are known for your extremely high standards and minimal tolerance for design mediocrity. Conduct a detailed critical analysis of https://tatbiqit.com/blog/. Focus specifically on identifying weaknesses, flaws, and areas of deficiency. Be ruthlessly specific about what needs improvement and why these elements fail to meet professional standards. Provide concrete examples and reference established design principles in your criticism."*

AI Professor's Response:

Rating: 6.5/10 - Below expectations for a professional design resource

Major Critique Points:

  1. Header Navigation Deficiencies:

2. Visual Hierarchy Issues:

3. Content Presentation Problems:

4. Performance Concerns:

5. Mobile Experience Shortcomings:

"The design demonstrates basic competency but lacks the polish and attention to detail expected of professional design resources. These issues collectively create unnecessary cognitive load and compromise the user experience." - AI Professor

Prompt 2: The Cost-Effective Professor Assessment

*"Act as a practical UX/UI professor specializing in cost-effective design improvements. You focus on identifying the changes that will deliver the maximum impact with minimal development effort. Analyze https://tatbiqit.com/blog/ and provide a prioritized list of recommendations that could be implemented with less than 40 development hours total. For each suggestion, estimate the implementation complexity (low/medium/high) and predicted impact on user experience (1-10 scale)."*

AI Professor's Response:

High-Impact, Low-Effort Recommendations:

  1. Improve Contrast Ratios (Effort: Low | Impact: 8/10)

2. Optimize Navigation Clarity (Effort: Medium | Impact: 9/10)

3. Enhance Touch Targets (Effort: Low | Impact: 7/10)

4. Content Freshness Indicators (Effort: Low | Impact: 6/10)

5. Image Optimization (Effort: Medium | Impact: 8/10)

Total Estimated Implementation: 21-32 hours

"These targeted improvements would significantly enhance usability while respecting budget constraints. Focusing on these high-impact areas would yield a disproportionate return on investment compared to more extensive redesign approaches." - AI Professor

The Value of AI in Design Critique

This approach demonstrated several advantages over traditional design evaluation methods:

  1. Immediate Feedback: Instead of waiting days or weeks for design reviews, we received comprehensive feedback within minutes
  2. Cost Effectiveness: The AI critique process was significantly more affordable than hiring multiple design experts
  3. Diverse Perspectives: By creating different professor personas, we gained multiple specialized viewpoints
  4. Objectivity: The AI evaluations were based on established design principles rather than personal preferences

Implementation Roadmap

Based on these recommendations, we've prioritized the following improvements for our website:

  1. Short-Term fixes (Next 2 weeks):

2. Medium-Term enhancements (Next month):

3. Long-Term improvements (Next quarter):

Final Thoughts

While AI cannot completely replace human design expertise, our experiment demonstrates its tremendous value as a supplemental evaluation tool. The ability to receive immediate, affordable, and diverse professional feedback accelerates iteration cycles and enhances decision-making.We encourage other design teams to explore this approach—not as replacement for human expertise, but as augmentation that makes the design process more efficient and effective. The future of design evaluation likely lies in combining human creativity with AI's analytical capabilities to create exceptional user experiences.
